Janeane is .... well, ideal!!

Further to a report on here that Janeane was to guest star in the latest 6th series of the BBC 3 comedy "Ideal" starring Johnny Vegas. Other than it seems that Janeane will be in the UK (wahay!) filming during March in Manchester - an update on an Ideal forum confirms that her character will be the new neighbour of Johnny's character, called "Tilly" apparently....

Garofalo plays Tilly an artistic American girl who runs her own designer clothes shop, Trash Wednesday.

I wonder, is that supposed to be a spoof of Janeane's indy film credit Ash Tuesday? Or maybe just a play on words with the old Christian commemoration of the first day of Lent...probably best not to discuss that with Janeane, or she'll be renaming the joint in a fit of proud atheist angst.
Think she'll be selling homemade plastic jewelry?

Janeane made her debut in the 2nd episode of the new season 6 of Ideal in the UK this week. The summary of Janeane's character on the BBC website:

"This series also welcomes a new tenant to the block. Tilly (Janeane Garofalo) is a beautiful, witty, artistic American girl, who runs her own small designer clothes shop: Trash Wednesday."

lol, not sure about that, but I have to confess I do like the leather jacket she is wearing.

To be honest, even after seeing the show I'm not exactly sure what is going on (?) I think the problem is not being a seasoned viewer of the show (and as a result, not being up to speed with the previous 5 seasons). The guy is dressed all in black and with a priests dog collar - affecting a black mask with only one eyehole....in addition to the gap at the bottom for the bizarre false teeth to show through. Kinda reminds me of "frankenstein" from the original Death Race 2000 for some reason (?). But then again, there is another character who always wears a smiling mouse mask (you can see him in the background on one of the pics) called "Cartoon Head" - I'm not sure who at the BBC commissioned this...or what they were smoking at the time... lol

Interestingly/mind bogglingly/cold shower inducingly - in next week's episode (4), Tilly (Janeane) reveals her new clothing range, which features a range of T-Shirts sporting graphic designs including: vomit; sweat; and blood. Moz (Johnny Vegas) half jokingly suggests that she should include a "sperm" T-Shirt - an idea which Tilly jumps on immediately as a great idea - saying that she will split the profits for the idea with Moz. All she needs to do is get her hands on a real life sample in order to scan into her computer and base a design around - at which she immediately suggests that Johnny would be an ideal candidate to provide the necessary sample, which Tilly is keen to personally take (and yes, from what I saw from the clip, this does appear to involve Janeane obtaining the sample - I'll leave it to your imagination, but just imagine what the easiest method would be for her to perform in order to get the sample) - crikey!!

So is the fifth, where she wrinkles her nose like Elizabeth Montgomery casting a spell in the old Bewitched sitcom...not that Janeane hasn't cast her spell on me a long, long time ago.

Well, I guess now we know why she chose to do this part without her eyeglasses...sure hope Janeane isn't from that method acting school.
Well, I guess it's still a better gig than voicing a cartoon clam who spits bitch juice...isn't it?
At any rate, she looks cuter than an Anne Geddes baby shower gift.
