Janeane Garofalo at 92YTribeca, Comedy Below Canal: The 12th Night of Chanukah

There was laughter, merriment and the occasional dreidel joke at this festive yet non-denominational edition of Comedy Below Canal™. Sean Patton hosted with Janeane Garofalo, Joe Mande, Jon Glaser, Todd Barry, musical guest Rob Paravonian and surprise guests Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo and Sarah Silverman.

Hmm, if those are supposed to be kosher Spanx, I think I prefer the regular variety...obvious that Janeane didn't overindulge during the holidays, as I usually do. She's so darned skinny it looks like she caught something from Lindsay Lohan during that Labor Pains shoot...the hat is cute, and the dress -- well, I'll say ingenious, because it looks like a great way to recycle old window curtains.:)

If I'm being a tad critical of Janeane's attire in this photo, it may be because it's a rerun. I believe she wore this same basic outfit at last summer's Bonaroo festival:

This getup doesn't really do much to flatter her well-proportioned figure, if you ask me.
Nor can I figure out the sleeveless top in the middle of a January deep freeze...maybe the tattoos keep her warm?

Janeane posing with Athena Reich:

Image

And if you're wondering who Athena Reich is, some quick Googling defined her as "...an indie rock/pop chick and practically a lesbian household name, won the award for Outstanding Pop Song of The Year for 'Love is Love.'"

Yeah, I know. Another JD Samson moment. Janeane seems to attract lesbian muscians like flies to a picnic spread.
Must be the Rosie tattoo...

Here's a nice shot of Janeane that somebody sent me from a web link that discussed her new CBS pilot for a medical drama series:

Love those rose-tinted shades. Janeane really ought to snag an eyewear commercial campaign. Can you think of a better spokesperson? Who has done more to make spectacle-wearing fashionable?

Yes, she does look nice, NepOwix. Here are a couple of other interesting pix from that gallery on the EPIX website (http://www.epixhd.com/janeane-garofalo-if-you-will):

Image

Janeane as a jungle explorer, wearing a pith helmet...wonder what that's from?

Image

Oh, how I envy the heavy-set gentleman in this pic...and Janeane doesn't seem to mind that friendly caress, so I'm guessing he must be a manager or agent of some sort. Or maybe he's just the guy she hires to keep those tattoos moisturized, and he's rubbing in lotion.

Image

On the roof of the Moore Hotel, looking decidedly wistful and impish. Love the pose.

Image

Tending to a few important last touches in the theater before the show...

Great photos, Phoenix. Thanks for sharing.

I think we all can see this forum needs a little jumpstart. That kind of gallery is just what the doctor ordered!

Lol, no idea of the origin of the pic - but for some reason I just LOVE this pic - set it up as my wallpaper at the moment as it just puts a smile on my face :-)

Came across the following pics that I hadn't seen before and thought I'd share just in case these are new to anyone else too...

Apparently the pictures were taken during RISK! (http://risk-show.com/).

I SURE hope that those (what look like) surgical arm splits are a prop/part of the routine!! Also, different to see a recent pic of JG without her glasses...

Oh geeze...she must have forgotten to put her specs on and got her arms caught in an elevator door.
Hope that doesn't mean she's off the wagon again...still, interesting, pix, mdstevouk.
I'm so used to seeing a bespectacled Janeane, I almost didn't recognize her.

...maybe she mislaid her specs and had a slight (blurry eyed) incident trapping one of her forearms in the refridgerator door whilst hunting for a fresh cool redbull to start the day...

...as for the other arm, that's obviously caused by slapping Ben Stiller a little too hard for even breathing the phrase "hmmmm....Mystery Men 2, now THAT sounds like a good idea...."

I like this pic that I gleaned from an online article describing her pending Criminal Minds appearance:
