Appearances by Janeane Garofalo

“Yeah, I'm kinda funny. So what.”

Janeane is perhaps best known for her roles in movies, first appearing in Reality Bites alongside Winona Ryder. Later she landed a starring role on The Truth About Cats and Dogs. During this time, she also appeared on The MatchMaker, Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion, Dogma, The Cable Guy, Half-Baked, and other kitschy 90’s comedies. Perhaps the most interesting roles are those that she didn’t take. Janeane almost took the role of leading lady in Jerry Maguire, but at the last minute the studio placed Renee Zellweger in her place. She also turned down a part in the original Scream film, because she was uncomfortable with the violence, as well as the role of Marla Singer in Fight Club, because the sex scenes turned her off.
